Of Vacations and Airports and Armadillos, Oh my!

Yesterday marked the end of my vacation to Texas, and while I had a lot of fun, it went by waaaay too quickly. A week is just never enough time to explore and there is only so much running around, eating and bar hopping you can do before time is up. So, now I’m back in my drizzly little corner of Oregon and mighty sad about that fact. It’s going to feel like a long couple of months before I get to move.

Aside from my initial flight to Denver, most of my travel went really well which, when it comes to airlines, is more than I can ask for. After my first flight was delayed, I quickly learned how fast my short little legs can move when I had to make a mad dash across the Denver airport to catch my connecting flight. I got off the plane at 7:36 and my next flight was supposed to depart at 7:45. I reached the other end of the terminal at 7:48 and by some blessing of the travel gods, I was able to board the plane and make it to my final destination.

Texas consisted 80% of eating delicious food. Though none of my clothes fit right at the moment, I can’t say I have any regrets. I do however regret the amount of alcohol I consumed with my brother the night before my flight home. To the people that had to sit next to me on the flight back, I apologize for my lack of enthusiasm towards life. I’m pretty sure in those hours to the San Francisco airport, I hated everything and everyone. Until I got to sit down and enjoy a $12 airport burrito (which was awful…damn you airport food), nothing existed in my life but having a hangover. I couldn’t even read on the flight back and that’s saying something.

Now that I’m back in Oregon, it’s time to catch up on all the writing I didn’t do on my trip. I’ve been shooting for 1000 words a day, so I’ve got some catching up to do. I see a very busy weekend ahead of me. I’m excited to get back to writing though. I’ve missed my characters a great deal and it’ll be nice to explore their world again.

I’ve still got a giveaway going on over at Goodreads! There is a signed 6×9 hardcover edition of The Bonded up for grabs so hop on over there and sign up!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! 🙂
